Company profile
Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn.Bhd is located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, approximately 50 km to the west of capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Normally known as Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station or Kapar Power Station. The power station lies between the mouths of the Kapar Besar and the Serdang Kecil rivers. Totaling 2420 MW this station consists of steam plants firing oil, gas and coal as well as open cycle Frame 9 gas turbines.

Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn.Bhd is a joint venture Company between Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Malakoff Berhad with an equity holding of 60% Tenaga Nasional Berhad and 40 % Malakoff Berhad.

Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn.Bhd owns, operates and maintain Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station since 9th July 2004, after successful acquisition of the power plant from Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

::Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd maintains a close relationship with the community. The power station participates in local community events, hosts annual open days and fishing competitions, and entertains study tours from schools, colleges and universities. The station also provides jobs and business opportunities and as a result, the nearby town has developed rapidly.

Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd is a special purpose company that was incorporated in Malaysia on 29th June, 2000. Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station, Kapar is the largest power station in Malaysia with generating capacity of 2420 MW and will contribute about 23% of the country's energy at maximum demand, We are the first coal fired power station and the first power station with triple fuel firing capability (gas, oil and coal) in Malaysia . The power station divestment to KEV in July 2004 is a strategy adopted by TNB in order to improve asset performance and efficiency
