It was a joint-venture between Skellerup Industries Ltd of New Zealand and a local company affiliated with the Johor State Economic Development Corporation (now known as Johor Corporation).
In 1991, Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, a company listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad), purchased the entire equity stake of the company, as it remains today.
The company has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers of quality products in the world. Due to its reliable products quality and services, the company has attracted and maintained many of the biggest names in the swimwear industry.
