■ "Tumbling Bowls" containing various buffing media are used to grind and polish the part's surface to obtain desired effects. The process is also known as deburring.
■ The end result varies greatly in direct proportion with the substrate of buffing media, compound or tumbling bowl used.
■ The common media used are :
Ceramic - used for deburring, which means the removal of sharp edges.
Steel Ball - is also known as burnishing. Steel balls are mainly used for acquiring a chrome finish.
Porcelain and Plastic Balls - for polishing parts.
